Learn from Canon Explorers of Light at PhotoPlus Expo
At PhotoPlus Expo 2017 (October 26-28), Canon will play an active role in helping photographers improve their skills. In their booth, accomplished photographers who serve as Canon Explorers of Light will present 20 sessions on topics such as: wildlife photography; family, rock-and-roll, and wildlife portraits, macro art, in-camera creativity, photojournalism, speedlites, and the craft of a fine photograph.

Canon Explorers of Light
The Canon Explorers of Light program began in 1995 to celebrate and highlight the work of outstanding professional imaging creators in different segments of the photography business. The Explorers serve as representatives, ambassadors, educators, and role mdels for aspiring creative artists. They participate in a variety of seminars, personal appearances, and gallery showings through the United States.
In October, Canon welcomed two new members to the Canon Explorers of Light program: Barbara Davidson and Terrell Lloyd.
Barbara Davidson is a Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist best known for her images of victims of gang abuse in Los Angeles.
As a long-time photographer at the Los Angeles Times, Davidson spent most of the past decade photographing women and children trapped in a culture of poverty and guns.
“I am excited to be part of this great program and look forward to sharing my years of experience with Canon users all over the world,” said Davidson.
Terrell Lloyd is known for his experience shooting professional and college sports. He currently works for the San Francisco 49ers as their full-time lead team photographer and manager of the organization’s photography services. Over the past 25 years, Lloyd has diversified his business by photographing a multitude of events.
“Being an Explorer of Light gives me the opportunity to help educate and inspire the next generation of image creators,” said Lloyd.
“Canon’s Explorer of Light program has enable us to connect with and showcase th works of many amazing photographers,” said Yuichi Ishizuka, president and COO of Canon U.S.A. Inc. “It’s a privilege to have our Explorers of Light share their photographic passions and technical expertise.”
PDN PhotoPlus Expo and Conference
Sponsored by PDN magazine, PDN PhotoPlus International Conference + Expo is the largest photography and imaging event in North America. Nearly 20,000 professional, amateur, and emerging photographers, enthusiasts, videographers, students and educators from around the world attend the conference and expo, which is held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
