Add Canon M40 Scanning System to Select iPF Technical Wide-Format Printers
The M40 wide-format document scanning system originally sold with the MFP models of the Canon imagePROGRAF iPF780, iPF785, PF830, iPF840 and iPF850 wide-format printers can now be purchased separately. This means that if you didn’t purchase the scanner when you first bought your 5-color Canon imagePROGRAF technical printer, you can add one now.
The M40 is a complete system that allows you to scan, copy, edit, file, edit, and/or share print black-and-white and color images up to 40 inches wide on paper up to 42 inches wide.
Use the M40 to digitize construction blueprints, 3D renderings, perspective drawings, facility and maintenance maps, construction site maps, aerial photographs, and more.
The system includes:
- the M40 scanner with a single 40-in. sensor assembly
- a 19.5-in. flat-panel, multi-touch screen PC for previews
- SmartWorks MFP software for one-touch copy, scan, and print functions
- an MFP stand with a swing-arm for monitor placement
The scanner can accept media up to 2 mm thick (78 mils) and scans with an optical resolution of 1200 dpi. Scanning speeds are 13 inches per second for monochrome documents and 3 inches per second for color documents.
With the multi-touch Windows PC, you can save scanned files for easy reprinting, add programs to the system, and move files via a USB storage device. You can also preview any image adjustments you make in the SmartWorks software, such as white point or back point adjustments, sharpening, mirroring, inverting, or autocropping.
The SmartWorks software features an easy-to-use touchscreen interface with controls that allow you to scan multi-page documents with a mix of color and monochrome pages and choose draft, standard, and best-quality modes. The software is fully integrated with Canon’s Direct Print & Share Cloud portal software that enables you to upload scanned files to your cloud storage system.
The M40 scanner must be connected to one of these models Canon imagePROGRAF printers:
The models listed above all work with SmartWorks v4. If you want to use the M40 scanner with a Canon imagePROGRAF TM-300, TM-305, TX-3000 or TX-4000 wide-format printer, you will need to download and install SmartWork v5.4.
