Canon has updated its line-up of 5-color imagePROGRAF TM printers for use in offices that want to print their own drawings, renderings, maps, schedules, calendars, training materials, or in-store displays, signage, advertising, and promotions.
The new imagePROGRAF TM series include two single-function printers that can print on materials up to 24 in. wide and three models that can print on rolls up to 36 in. wide.
The new TM series also includes Canon’s first two multi-functional printers that include integrated scanners.
All seven models in the TM series of 24-in. and 36 in. printers are suitable for use in variety of settings, including organizations involved in building, surveying, design, manufacturing, public transportation, retailing, education, restaurants, and government agencies.

Noteworthy Features
New Matte Black Ink. Every new model in the TM lineup features a newly developed matte black pigment ink with enhanced black density, to produce deep, crisp fine lines and small text in technical drawings, while enabling vivid color reproduction for poster output — even on plain paper. The improved data processing engine sharpens fine text and lines.
Mix-and-Match Ink Tank Sizes. The TM printers use five colors of Canon’s LUCIA TD aqueous pigment inks (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, and Matte Black.) The inks are available in 130 mil and 300 mil ink tanks, and you can mix and match ink-tank sizes based on how what percentages of your print jobs are monochrome and color. The ink tanks can be replaced during printing, which means that virtually all of the ink in each tank will be used.
Flat-Top Design. The TM series printers also feature a flat-top design to simplify media loading. After you set the roll of paper on the top of the printer, simply attach the roll holders and slide the lead edge of the paper along a guide. The printer will automatically detect the type and width of the paper and how much media is left on the roll.
Tiltable Touchscreen. The 4.3-in. touch panel can be tilted for the most comfortable viewing angle.
Front-of-Printer Operations. Whether you need to load paper rolls, retrieve output, change ink, or install a maintenance cartridge, you never have to move the printer away from the wall. These printers are designed to save valuable workspace by enabling all print-related operations to be accessible from the front.
Borderless Printing. A multi-sensor detects the edge of the paper and prints right up to the edge of the paper is the file has been set up with minimal margins.
Chromebook Support. Print and scan wirelessly from your Chromebook laptop without installing printer drivers or separate software.
Mopria Print Service Support. The TM series supports the Mopria Print Service app that enables wireless printing and scanning from Android phones and tablets.
Print Speeds. Print speeds range from 2.4 to 3.2 Arch D-size prints (24 x 36 in.) per minute depending on the model.

Single-Function Canon Printers in the TM Series
The five single-function models feature a compact design and easy operability for printing renderings, drawings, simple signage, and posters for school and office bulletin boards.
The printer models vary primarily in the types of accessories and the sizes of the replacement ink tanks.
- TM-500.The 24 in. benchtop printer has optional stand with basket or an optional catch basket that attaches to the benchtop to keep prints off the ground. Ink tanks: 55 ml
- TM-510. 24 in. printer with stand and catch basket. Ink tanks: 130 ml and 300 ml.
- TM-600. 36 in. printer with stand and catch basket. Ink tanks: 130 ml and 300 ml
- TM-610. 36 in. printer with stand and stackable basket. Ink tanks: 130 ml and 300 ml
- TM-615. 36 in. printer with stand, flat plain-paper stacking basket, encrypted 256 GB hard and the ability to print JPEG and PDF files directly from a thumb drive. Ink tanks: 130 ml and 300 ml

Multi-function Models in the Canon TM Series
Canon’s 24-in. TM-510M and 36- in. TM-610 models combine a wide-format printer and large-format scanner in a compact footprint comparable. The features of the printers are similar in terms of accessories and ink tanks of the single-function printer models above. But these models include a touchscreen that controls both the printer and the scanner.
The scanner offers stable, high-precision reading. Light sources on both sides of the sensor reduce shadows and uneven brightness caused by creases or wrinkles in the original document.
Presets: With the preset functions on the operation panel, users can select the appropriate document type and scan mode. Scan modes include:
- CAD (line drawings)
- Blueprint (Black-and-white conversion),
- Tracing Paper,
- Poster/Photo Prints
- Drawings/Maps
The modes reproduce crisp lines and text in CAD drawings, provide accurate color in drawings and maps, and make clean black-and-white copies of blueprints whose colors have faded from sun exposure.
Automatic Detection of Lines/Text and Halftone Areas. The scanner provides color reproduction close to the original and ensure that the combination of lines, colors, and text in maps remain readable.
Optimized Image Processing for CAD Drawings. The scanner can help remove fading and other background artifacts for sharp reproduction of fine lines and text.
Blueprint Drawings to Black& White Scans. When converting faded blueprint drawings into digital files, the scanner will enhance the fine lines and background test and remove background artifacts.
Scanner Speeds. The TM-610M and TM-510M scan at speeds of up to 5 inches per second in color and 10 inches per second in monochrome.
Switchable Home Screens: The TM-510M and TM 610 models include the 5-inch touchscreen used on all of Canon’s imagePROGRAF multi-function printers. The menus on the touchscreens can be customized to fit specific business needs. Users can easily switch from the home screen for scanner operation to the home screen for printer operation.
This helps ensure a short learning curve for new users and a familiar process for experienced users of Canon large format multi-function printers.
Included Software
Each of these printers come with the following software:
Free Layout Plus. Conserve media on wide-format paper rolls by freely changing the layout of smaller documents created Microsoft Office or images edited in Adobe Photoshop. Create two-sided posters by printing with a duplex layout for folding. The tiling feature enables you to create large images by joining multiple printed sheets.
Direct Print Plus. Use this job submission tool to make your printing workflows more efficient. For example, you can drag and drop multiple files with different formats and print them as a batch on the loaded roll of paper.
Media Configuration Tool: Maintain a list of the print materials you use most often so you can choose it from the operation panell. Customize the displayed list of items and add optimum print settings for each media type.
Device Management Console: Centrally manage multiple imagePROGRAF printers across the network. Monitor printer status, ink levels, perform color calibrations, and get notifications when print job errors occur or a job is completed.
Accounting Manager: Monitor the amount of ink and paper used for each print job completed on one or multiple
Canon Poster Artist Online: Access to the online version of Canon’s template-driven poster‑creation software. Poster Artist enables users with limited design experience to produce professional-looking posters, flyers, menus, banners, calendars, and signage.
Environmental Considerations
All of the new imagePROGRAF TM printers reflect Canon’s Kyosei philosophy of environmental responsibility. About 5% of the steel in the main body of TM series printers is made from recycled steel. About 25% of the resins used in the body of the printer is made from recycled resin.
The TM printers are shipped in smaller and lighter packaging that can be unpacked in smaller spaces. Recyclable corrugated cardboard replaces polystyrene foam used for cushioning.
New TM models meet the criteria registered for EPEAT 1.0 Gold Level certification. EPEAT is a system that rates the environmental impact of electronic products, using criteria developed by the Green Electronics Council.
